Superman comes to Des Moines, Iowa this Wednesday in Superman #707 by @Chris_Roberson.
My “promo” illustration above is based on this classic ad used to announce the Superman newspaper strip arriving in a new town, which I think neatly matches up with Superman’s current trip across America to rediscover Truth, Justice, and the American Way.
Btw, comics fans in Austin, Texas should head over to Austin Books & Comics where Chris Roberson will be signing copies from 4 to 7pm! You might even see me there, if you’re very lucky and have been a good comics fan all year. (It’s only been 11 days, so I trust you haven’t ruined your chances already.)
Tomorrow, Superman returns with two brilliant covers and a brand new writer. Superman #707 is an excellent jumping-on point, and begins, in my opinion, one of the most exciting and moving storylines starring the Man of Tomorrow in recent memory. Whether you’ve been following the series or not, you’re in for so many wonderful surprises in the coming months, and it all starts right here.
