Hi, I’m Chris Haley. You may know me from my respectably popular webcomic, Let’s Be Friends Again, or my work for ComicsAlliance. What you’re looking at here is my take on Jim Lee’s famous X-Men #1 cover from 1991. I’m selling this original artwork with all proceeds going directly to the “Keep Chris Haley Off the Streets” charity foundation! Okay, well technically, this is my take on two of the five sections that make up that famous mega-gatefold cover, but you get the idea. It always bugged me that Magneto wasn’t even looking at the X-Men, so it looked like they were all attacking him from behind (at worst) or the side (at best). I decided to kind play that up and have the X-Men look a little crazed and have Magneto be more scared of them or perhaps aghast at their terrible manners. This is original, one of a kind art (pencil and ink) on 9”x12” heavy bristol board and it actually looks better in person than this scan would have you believe! Like I said, all of the proceeds for this art I’m selling go to a good cause (me being able to pay my rent), so if you like the picture but can’t afford to bid, please help me out with a REBLOG. A terrible P.R. campaign Alright, I don’t know why I imagine Toad with a Southern accent, I JUST DO, OKAY? I’m sure the little guy is from the Florida panhandle, the kind of place where you can still say ‘colored’ and not get confused looks. TWO HUGE THINGS: 1. It is our buddy Eugene (Adam Warrock)’s last day of his 2012 Donation Drive, and he’s looking to hit a certain goal in order to throw a party and rent a bouncy castle to shoot his next video in. If getting access to most of his catalog wasn’t enough, this incentive should convince you to open up the old coin collection. He’s a good guy, a good musician, and trying to make it solo. Help him do that. 2. Just announced today, Chris and I will be doing a comic for the new label, Monkeybrain Comics.
